Hunkar Ozyasar - Chief Strategist/Researcher

The son of a Turkish diplomat, Hunkar Ozyasar grew up in Turkey, Germany, and the UK. He began his career as a brand manager at Unilever and later worked as a copywriter at J. Walter Thompson. Hunkar Ozyasar later completed an MBA degree at one of the world’s top business schools, Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Taking advantage of the school’s exchange program, he completed part of his studies in Thailand, gaining valuable insights into the work habits and challenges of Southeast Asian managers.

Upon graduation, Ozyasar joined Deutsche Bank. Following his first assignment in London, he settled in New York, where he was subsequently promoted to Global High Yield Bond Strategist. During his tenure with Deutsche Bank, Ozyasar was quoted in numerous financial publications including Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal. Ozyasar continues to write weekly articles for Japan’s biggest economic publisher NIKKEI Business Online. The articles (translated into Japanese) provide a macroeconomic overview and provide investment guidance to Japanese investors. Manuel Carril

 International Researcher, Energy/Infrastructure Expert

Mr. Manuel Carril is a native of Spain and held numerous prestigious positions throughout his career. Upon graduation from Polytechnic University of Madrid in 1990 with a degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Carril served in the Spanish Military as a Corporal in the Antiaircraft Division. Following this assignment, Mr. Carril coordinated the traffic software research department at SAINCO TRAFICO S.A and was part of the design team of EU traffic data transmission standard. He also designed and implemented parking, tunnel and bridge control plans in several Spanish cities during his work as Research and Development Engineer.

Carril moved to China in 1992, representing SAINCO TRAFICO S.A., and managed all local operations of the toll control project of $5 million dollars of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangu highway, Beijing airport highway as well as numerous other projects in the Bejing area. Following these undertakings, he started and registered the Representation Office in Beijing , by hiring and leading all the staff in China and managed the Jinan-Qingdao project worth $15 million.

Carril completed an MBA at Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University in USA between 1998 and 2000. Upon completion of his studies, he worked for Level 3 Communications, where he launched several broadband communications products, and JET-A.COM where he created, launched and managed new aviation fuel supply administration products for numerous global airlines.

Desiring to further his international experience, he moved to Brazil in 2002 as the Chief Operating Officer of RTC Industries in Sao Paulo . He managed an annual budget of $3.5 million, as well as 150 employees and successfully turned around a lagging operation in two years by restructuring practically every major department. Upon completion of the turnaround plan, he returned to Spain and assumed the role of Regional Manager for Asia and Egypt at Gamesa Eolica, S.A between 2004 and 2007. He tendered for projects worth more than one billion euros and signed contracts and agreements worth more than 300 Million euros during his time at Gamesa Eolica.

When adventure called in 2007, Carril answered yet again and returned to the booming Chinese market with Befesa, S.A.U as the Director of all Chinese business. His mission was to establish local operations and building a pipeline of future water purification business, which he did with outstanding efficiency in only one year, bringing in more than 200 million Euros of expected revenue.

In 2008, Carril moved to India as Country Manager of Capital Energy, S.A and is currently establishing the wind energy business with its entire infrastructure.

Alastair Onglingswan

Mr. Onglingswan graduated from the University of Toronto in May 1990 with a joint degree in Political Science & East Asian History and later obtained his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in New York (May 1995). Following his graduation, he worked as a Litigation Associate at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker, in New York. In December 1997, he moved to Brown & Wood, LLP as a Corporate Associate, where he worked until March 2000. Onglingswan handled SEC registrations, IPOs and corporate filings and represented underwriters as well as issuers in public and private mortgage-backed and asset-backed transactions during his time at Brown & Wood. He was the Senior Underwriting Associate for CSFB and Greenwich Capital on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae securitizations, responsible attorney for Goldman and Smith Barney high-yield securitizations of time-shares and mobile homes receivables.

In 2000, Onglingswan launched bCorner.com and continues to work as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer for the company. bCorner.com creates virtual marketplaces for other websites including BusinessWeekOnline.com and GoldsGym.com. He also managed to launch PinoyDolyar.com.  PinoyDolyar.com is a Filipino-based technology venture that assists overseas Filipinos sending money back to the Philippines. It is an economic and secure alternative to bank transfers and companies such as Western Union. Today, Onglingswan divides his time between these various ventures and is actively involved with various charitable organizations.


Onglingswan is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations and was recently awarded the Asian Professional Extension, Inc. (APEX) 2006 Volunteer of the Year Award.  He currently sits on the Board of APEX and is the current Treasurer for that organization.
